چکیده

One of the most natural approaches to the study of regular semigroups is to impose restrictions on the partial ordering of their idempotents (erg/^e/—jfe==e). The principal object of this note is to describe the structure of the classes of regular semigroups whose idempotents form a tree or a unitary tree, respectively (see Definition 1). We determine, among other things, a complete set of invariants, isomorphisms, the group of automorphisms, and congruences of these semigroups. We also consider regular rings whose multiplicative semigroup satisfies conditions (C) or (Ci) and give their structure. The terminology concerning semigroups is that of [2] and concerning p.o. sets of [ l ] . We consider only semigroups with zero; the statements concerning semigroups without zero can then be easily deduced. DEFINITION 1. A [unitary] tree T is a p.o. set with a unique minimal element 0 [and a unique maximal element l ] , r ^ { o | , satisfying (i) all elements [different from l ] are of finite height; (ii) every element different from 0 [and different from l ] covers exactly one element. DEFINITION 2. A regular semigroup whose p.o. set of idempotents is a tree [unitary tree] is said to be ^-regular [^regular]. A 3i-regular semigroup has an identity element. In order to find the structure of such semigroups, we need the following construction. For any semigroup S with zero, we write S* = S\0. Let T be a tree; to every aCzT*~T\Q associate a semigroup Sa with zero 0«; the semigroups Sa are pairwise disjoint. If ax>l (ax is the height of a in 7"), associate to a a partial homomorphism <*: S*—>S£ (â is the unique element of T covered by a). On the set V= (Uaesp* S*)\J0, multiplication is defined by induction on the height of aÇzT as follows. Let 0 act as the zero of V. If ax — fix — l and x£»S*, yÇzSp (multiplication in Sa is denoted by juxtaposition), let

Examples of non-quasicommutative semigroups decomposed into unions of groups

Decomposability of an algebraic structure into the union of its sub-structures goes back to G. Scorza's Theorem of 1926 for groups. An analogue of this theorem for rings has been recently studied by A. Lucchini in 2012. On the study of this problem for non-group semigroups, the first attempt is due to Clifford's work of 1961 for the regular semigroups. Since then, N.P. Mukherjee in 1972 studied...

Commuting $pi$-regular rings

R is called commuting regular ring (resp. semigroup) if for each x,y $in$ R there exists a $in$ R such that xy = yxayx. In this paper, we introduce the concept of commuting $pi$-regular rings (resp. semigroups) and study various properties of them.

Semigroups with inverse skeletons and Zappa-Sz$acute{rm e}$p products

The aim of this paper is to study semigroups possessing $E$-regular elements, where an element $a$ of a semigroup $S$ is {em $E$-regular} if $a$ has an inverse $a^circ$ such that $aa^circ,a^circ a$ lie in $ Esubseteq E(S)$. Where $S$ possesses `enough' (in a precisely defined way) $E$-regular elements, analogues of Green's lemmas and even of Green's theorem hold, where Green's relations ${mathc...

THE ANALOGUE OF WEIGHTED GROUP ALGEBRA FOR SEMITOPOLOGICAL SEMIGROUPS

In [1,2,3], A. C. Baker and J.W. Baker studied the subspace Ma(S) of the convolution measure algebra M, (S) of a locally compact semigroup. H. Dzinotyiweyi in [5,7] considers an analogous measure space on a large class of C-distinguished topological semigroups containing all completely regular topological semigroups. In this paper, we extend the definitions to study the weighted semigroup ...

Regular ordered semigroups and intra-regular ordered semigroups in terms of fuzzy subsets

Let $S$ be an ordered semigroup. A fuzzy subset of $S$ is anarbitrary mapping   from $S$ into $[0,1]$, where $[0,1]$ is theusual interval of real numbers. In this paper,  the concept of fuzzygeneralized bi-ideals of an ordered semigroup $S$ is introduced.Regular ordered semigroups are characterized by means of fuzzy leftideals, fuzzy right ideals and fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals.Finally, two m...
